The Kenya Mission in Kinshasa Democratic Republic of Congo was established in 1967 with the mandate of articulating and implementing Kenya’s Foreign Policy objectives and strengthening bilateral ties between Kenya and DR Congo and accredited countries. The Embassy is situated in Gombe, Kinshasa to the Western part of DR Congo.
The Mission is accredited to three other neighboring countries namely: Central Africa Republic (CAR), Congo Brazzaville, and the Republic of Gabon. The Embassy is Kenya's first Diplomatic Mission in a French Speaking African country hence, its strategic bilateral position not only within the DRC but in the wider Great Lakes region and Central Africa. The DRC is a strategic partner of Kenya in many areas, particularly trade and security.
